Congrats to March Band Director of the Month N. Guy Lake!

For March’s Band Director of the Month, GPG Music recognizes N. Guy Lake, Director of Instrumental Music, Palm Desert High School Palm Desert, Calif. since 2005. He conducts the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, while also overseeing Marching Band, Colorguard, and Percussion Ensemble. Under his direction, the Palm Desert High bands have consistently received many honors and top scores at festivals and competitions throughout California, as well as touring Italy, France and Spain.

Mr. Lake is active as a presenter and guest conductor, having had the privilege of working with some of the finest Wind Band Conductors in the United States including H. Robert Reynolds, Allan McMurray, John Paynter, and Timothy Topolowski to name a few. The GPG Music team has worked with Lake for nearly 15 years and watched his program grow, maintaining a high-quality of excellence. He stops at nothing to give his students the best possible experience in all aspects of his program. GPG Music owner Steve Martin said, “I love working with educators who are ‘all in’, and Guy is very high on that list.” Lake also makes one of the world’s best batons.
