Our February Band Director of the Month, is J.P. Lynch, Jr., director of bands for Jefferson High School, in Shenandoah Junction, WV.

After more than 20 years as a music educator, he was inducted into the local Band Director Hall of Fame at the same time as his father, John Lynch Sr. in 2017 — a remarkable feat yet only one of his many awards! His ensembles consistently rank Superior and win awards at local, state and national festivals. His current band increased 60%; they performed three times at the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington D.C. A fun fact, he lives on a Christmas tree farm with his family. When working with J.P. for custom arrangements, the GPG Music Team observes he has achieved a superior balance of demanding excellence of his students while tremendously keeping them engaged, invested, and having fun. Another really cool fact about J.P., his students get to choose their show music every year! We appreciate writing for a band we know will LOVE their music because of this freedom and responsibility of music selection. Keep rocking your part to #InspireTheNextGeneration, J.P. (@jplynchjr)!
