Presto Modesto! Was originally commissioned in 2018 by the Joseph A. Gregori String Orchestra under the direction of Paul Hererra. In 2020, it was transcribed for wind ensemble. The Name “Presto Modesto!” is a nod to the city of Modesto, California, in which the school resides. The name also serves as a description of the tempo and tone of this piece. It is a light presto with a focus on beautiful and wondrous melodies, without being too brash or boastful.
